Brady 9 and 10 months

Warning:  I am late again!!! The blog is getting much more difficult to keep up with since we have 2 boys running around, but I am trying my best, so at times the posts will come in groups. Sorry, please keep checking back, as I plan to keep it running as long as I can.

                                                                              9 months

Here is our little man at 9 months (notice all of the drool on his shirt from teething). Still only 2 teeth on the bottom, but I know there are more coming soon.  There is that oh so familiar smile of his, soooo cute!

He is doing so much these days, I can't even keep up.  He is now eating all sorts of solids, including puffs, yogurt bites, and bits and pieces of whatever we are eating.  He is able to feed himself using his hands, and looks like he will be able to use a spoon any day now.  We are starting to introduce the sippy cup, and he is getting better at it each time we use it... mommy just needs to be more consistent with it.  Update:  He really does not like baby food any longer, he wants "big people" food..... on the menu for him tonight, lasagna and bread.

                                                                       10 Months

He is standing with support.  He pulls himself up on everything around the house, and is now moving from one object to another.  He is also starting to walk when holding on to an object, for example he has an activity table that he pushes around while walking, so walking will be happening any day now.  He is also a big dancer, we have had "Rockin around the Christmas Tree"  playing day and night lately, and Brady will clap and move with the music, he loves to dance.  Which brings me to the musician in him, he and Gavin are constantly fighting over the drums, they love their music.

Brady is very vocal, I keep telling everyone in order to be heard in our house, you have to be loud... and Brady is definitely that.  He will scream in order to get our attention, and we often find him screaming at Gavin when he wants something that he has that Brady wants.  He is saying mama, at this time.

Brady is hitting all of the appropriate milestones and more:

• He is climbing the stairs
• Feeding himself finger foods
• Standing assisted
• Clapping and Dancing
• Cruising from one object to another
• Waving good-bye
• understands "no" however, does not always obey our wishes

Brady 8 months

Here he is, 8 months old.  Due to me being so late on his 7 month photo, there really are not a lot of new updates, he now completely sits on his own, he takes baths in the big boy bath (with Gavin)  and he claps his hands!!  He is also baby babbling a lot, saying ba ba, and other sounds like that.  He is growing way to fast!  Poor little guy has a cold in this shot, so his little nose is red and his chin is all red from drool.

Halloween 2011

This year was Brady's 1st Halloween, unfortunately the little guy was not feeling very well. He had a bad cold. But, that did not stop us from Trick or Treating. We ventured out in the neighborhood with some friends, Lily and Brooklyn, and Nani Debbie, Aunt Amy and Anthony came with us. Gavin was dressed up as a boxer (very suiting) and Brady was our little tiger. I have to add.... mom bought both costumes for under 13 dollars total!!!

Bath Time Fun!

Brady took his first big boy bath two weeks ago, and he absolutely loved it!  He tood a bath with Gavin, and they had a blast.  They were splashing, smiling, and laughing,  this is going to be fun!  Here are some pictures!

October 2011

New Addition...

Call us crazy, that we are... we decided to rescue a puppy from the Gaston County Animal Shelter!  She is a beautiful little girl, and we could not stand the thought of her being euthenized (which is very common at this shelter). Her name is Nala (from Lion King) So, here we are, crazy as ever, a two and a half year old, a 7 month old, a 9 year old dog and a puppy.  Obviously she is a puppy, so she bites, chews, did I say bites.....  she torments Dylan, and her and Gavin torment eachother... I will say there is never a dull moment at the Dennison household.  So far, although crazy, all worth it.

Brady 7 months

Brady is mobile, he is a crawler!   He moves so fast, you can not take your eyes off of him for a minute!  He is into everything.  When in the living room, he will crawl to the tv stand, or the table and will try to pull himself up, so that will be next.... ok, he is pulling himself up to his knees (since I am finally writing this update at 7 1/2 months).  He is also able to sit on his own, in a tripod sitting position.  The other day, he was crawling, and then just sat up on his own from the crawling position. 

We have introduced some more solids, and I can tell you this, he does not dig the green veggies.  If you could only see the faces he makes when we try to feed him peas, it is absolutely hysterical!!  He gags, he then makes funny noises, and then spits it out. He is eating puffs and yogurt bites, and loves them.  He likes most fruits, we are trying to introduce new ones every week.  I don't think we have found one that he does not like.

He has 2 teeth coming in, the 2 front and center on the bottom, too Cute!  When he smiles you can see them, and he is always smiling!  Let's see, Brady is still sleeping through the night, and taking two naps a day, one in the morning, and then one in the afternoon.  We are trying to get into a routine like we did with Gavin, but it is a little more difficult with 2 boys.  But, we are going for the bottle, book, bed routine right now....now, I just need to get them both going to bed at the same time, and it would be easy!

Gavin at 2 1/2

How cute is he???????????

He is definitely 2 1/2....

Gavin is measuring 3 feet and 2 inches, and weighs 30lbs.  As you can see, he still has his blond hair (I hope it stays!!)

He is definitely a little athlete.  He plays baseball, golf, football, badmitten, hockey and more!  He is very good at these sports, especially his baseball!  He always wants to play baseball, and as you have seen in the video he nails the ball.  He makes his dad so proud.  Daddy went out and bought an official t-ball bat, bases, and balls to get ready for t ball NEXT YEAR.

Gavin keeps busy these days, he plays with all of his toys, plays outside, goes to My Gym, swims in his pool, plays with his play dough, plays with his friends, sports....and on and on.  He is always on the go, he is the energizer bunny! 

He is a very smart young man.  He is putting 4-5 and more word sentences together.  He can answer your questions, give directions (more like demands), he uses please and thank you, and can communicate pretty much anything he wants.  He is also smart in that he knows when he is doing something he is not supposed to do.  He will look right at us and say something like "mommy look at me..." He definitely has a very strong personality, and wants what he wants.  But, he is also the sweetest thing at times.  He is your typical two year old, pushing his limits, but in the end, he is our little man!

Gavin is an awesome big brother!  He loves Brady, and is always kissing and hugging him.  He makes Brady laugh, and is very helpful with him.  When they are in the backseat of the car, Gavin will talk to Brady, and smile, and Brady will laugh at him, it is so cute!!  He asks for him every morning, and talks and plays with him all of the time.

He is in the process of potty training, and it is going very well!  He pretty much goes on the potty all day long, with accidents only happening once in a while.  He will tell you if he has to go, or sometimes he will walk right in the bathroom.  He wears big boy underware during the day, and diapers still at night, during naptime, and when we are out and about.  Pretty soon, he will be diaper free!  So exciting! Will keep you posted!!!

Brady 6 Months

Brady is now half way to 1!  He is growing so fast, and has been doing so many new things!  At his 6 month check up, Brady weighed 16lbs 10oz and was 26 1/4  inches long.  He was in the 25-50th percentile for his length, and 25-50th percentile for his weight.  He is filling out a little bit more, but is definitely on the leaner side.  Everything looked great at his appointment!

Brady started eating solids this month, and he loves them!  I started him with just rice cereal (which Gavin did not like at all) and he went to town on it.  He ate from the spoon like a natural.  We then introduced bananas, apples, sweet potatoes and baby yogurt.  He has liked every single one of them!  He is not fussy at all... we will see what happens when we bring on the green veggies.  I am planning on making some more baby food like I did for Gavin, just have not had a spare moment yet. 

I am back to work.  It really stinks, I enjoyed being home with the boys this summer, I really miss them.  My school days have gotten longer, and I feel like I do not have enough time to spend with them.  Once we get a routine down, I think it will get better, we are just learning how to raise a family with 2 young ones, have a decent dinner, get quality time, and still have them in their routine, and to bed at a reasonable hour.  We are extremely lucky because the boys get to stay home with Nani Debbie, and they love it! 

Brady is still a great sleeper.  He takes around 2-3 naps per day, and they are pretty consistent.  One in the morning around 9-10, one in the afternoon, around 1-2, and sometimes one around 5ish...  trying to get rid of that one, and just put him down to bed around 7:30.  He sleeps through the night, only sometimes waking up around 4:30..  usually he sleeps from anywhere between 6-7am.  He now rolls over on his back or side at times to sleep, instead of always being on his tummy.  He still wakes up with that huge smile!  I love it!

He is cooing and "talking" all of the time.  It is so cute.  He is very vocal.  Always laughing!

We think he is going to crawl any day now.  He gets up on all fours and rocks back and forth, and will sometimes, scoot both knees forward.  Watch out, by the next post I have a feeling Brady will be mobile!  He also is sitting unassisted for short amount of times, he mostly does the tripod sit, where he is leaning forward, not sitting straight up.

Brady's favorite thing to do right now is to jump in his bouncy seat, he would sit there and do it for hours if we let him.

Success with the potty!!

Just an update, Gavin has been doing great with the potty.  He actually walks into the bathroom and just goes... he does not even say anything to us.  We will keep you posted.  By the way, Gavin is now 2 1/2 years old, and Brady is 6 months!!

Dakota

Dakota passed away last night, 8/19/2011.  She has been a part of our family for 10 years.   She was a wonderful companion, who was full of energy and love.  I remember the first day Chris and I got her, and how happy she made us, I also remember she was not too happy when Gavin came along, but now she was at Gavin's side everywhere he went.  We could not have asked for a better dog.   Dakota, we will miss you so much, we will miss you more than words can express.  We love you.

Brady Eats Solids

Brady tried solids for the first time on August 16th, at around 5 1/2 months. His first meal....rice cereal, and it was a SUCCESS!! He really seemed to like it, even grabbing for the spoon. Today, we tried again, making it a little thicker, and he did awesome! We will be slowly adding new foods, but for now it is a small helping of rice cereal each evening. Big Boy Underware

So, we are starting potty training, and, well, it is not going so well, yet....  The technique we are trying leaves it pretty much up to the child. He is definitely showing all of the signs of being ready, but he is just not going for it. We ask him every day if he would like to try on his big boy underware, but he usually says no, this is one of the evenings he said yes, notice him posing for us, ha ha!!! He has sat on the potty a couple of times, however, no luck with going, we will keep you posted.

Cousin Kali Visits

Here are some pictures from Cousin Kali's visit. We had a great time.. visited an animal safari in jungle like temps, went plane sighting, took a boat ride, etc...  She was wonderful with the boys!!
