Park on the Green

So, we visited the fish fountain at the Park on the Green in Uptown Charlotte last week. I never even knew about this place until a neighbor invited us to go with a local mommy's group! We had so much fun, the kids really enjoyed themselves. As you can see from the pictures it consisists of three huge fish that spit out water, and then water comes out of different places on the ground. The kids had to run around to the different areas to catch the water! So cute! This place is so neat, we will definitely be visiting there again!

Happy Father's Day to the best Daddy in the world! You have done so much for us, and always put us in front of everything else in your life, we love love you so much, and appreciate everything you do for us! Happy Father's Day! Here are a few pictures from Father's Day 2010!

Swingset!!!!

Ok. so do you see this swingset?? Looks like brand new, doesn't it???? Well, we got it for a steal, and I mean steal!!! Gavin and I were taking a walk on Saturday, and passed a moving sale, and this was one of the items for sale! We snatched it up in a heartbeat, and guess how much........ $30! Yup, you heard me, I am sooooo excited, can you tell? We went and picked it up on Sunday, and gave it a good SCRUB DOWN, bought a new swing for Gavin, since he can not swing on the big kid swings yet (it is not pictured here, but it is a seat, with a buckle), and he absolutely loves it! He loves to swing, slide, and hide underneath the slide in the little house. I can't wait to get lots of use out of it this summer! By the way, it is summer, and that means I am home all summer with Gavin, Yay!!!!

Eloise's 1st Birthday

We attended one heck of a barnyard bash for Eloise's 1st birthday party! She looked absolutely precious on her big day! Her mom, Allison, did a wonderful job of turning their backyard into a barnyard scene, with haystacks, wagons, and all! It was a beautiful day, and Gavin had a wonderful time with all of his friends! Happy First Birthday Eloise!!

Platdate at Reagan's house!

We went over to Mike, Kate's and Reagan's a last weekend. We had such a good time playing with the kids, and hanging out with the adults! The kids are so cute together! Check out the picture of Gavin putting the moves on Reagan in the pool!!!!

Memorial Day Weekend in NY

Our Memorial Day was spent on Beautiful Seneca Lake in Upstate NY this year, and it was such a great time! The purpose of this trip was so Chris could spend some time fishing with his good buddy Dave, which they did quite a bit of... up every morning at 3:30am, and out until 2 pm most of the days. They may not have caught the "big one," but they certainly had a great time out there! Anyways, while they were fishing, we spent some quality time hanging out with family. We had a cute little cabin which we stayed in, and had quite the set up. Nani Debbie bought Gavin a little pool to swim in, and a bunch of toys to play with while we were there, so he was in heaven! We were surrounded by beautiful scenery, great people, and we were able to have fun and relax!

On Sunday, we had a picnic at a park right on Seneca Lake, it was so beautiful, and a lot of family from the Polmateer and Dennison side of the family were there to spend it with us. Monday, on our way home (back to Rochester) we visited a winery, which by the way there are a MILLION of on Seneca Lake, and enjoyed the beautiful view and some great wine!!!

To end our great weekend, we stayed in a hotel (with a fun Jacuzzi in the room) by the airport, and the Bush side of the family came to visit us!! We had a big pizza party in the room, and Gavin was able to play with his Grandma, Uncle Justin, Aunt Danita, Nathanial, and mommy's great friend Crystal and her boyfriend Ryan!

15 months

Gavin is now 15 months old! This photo, even though it did not turn out the best because of the sun, is one of my favorites! I asked Gavin to say cheese and smile, and this is what he did! Perfect!

So you are wondering what Gavin is doing these days.... Well, he is doing something new everyday. He has a few words in his vocabulary, ball, hot, mama, and dada are the definite, we have heard him say other words but not consistently. When he says hot, he points to something, like the stove that is hot. When he says ball, he will have his ball in his hand. He is able to understand what we say to his as well, for example if we ask him to get something he will get it, or to do something, he will do it (SOMETIMES).

He is also blowing his nose, blowing on his food when it is hot, pointing, eating with utensils (getting better each day), he can identify his eyes, head, hair, nose (everyone else's nose, will not point to his own), ears, mouth, belly, and belly button. There is just so much, it is hard to blog about! It is absolutely amazing how quickly these little ones pick up on things. He is definitely a mimic, which means Chris and I really need to pay attention to what we are doing these days!

So, along with all of those great things Gavin is learning, he also has been showing us his other side. I thought the other side would start to come out when he turned two.... isn't that what they say, terrible twos?? Well, Mr. Gavin is definitely pushing his limits. When we say no, he gives us this little look, and then tries again, many more times, often thinking of it as a game... and if he does not get what he wants, he will scream, and throw a tantrum at times..... Chris and I were not prepared for this so early on, so we are now doing some research in how to handle these situations.... we will let you know how it goes! A little side note, it is really hard to keep from laughing at times during these little acts of defiance!

Oh! One more thing, 7 more days of school left, and then me and my little man have the entire summer together! Woo hoo!!
