Here are our pumpkins! I think Gavin's baby pumpkin looks just like him (he he), it even has two teeth on the bottom like Gavin does! Gavin participated in the pumpkin decorating by finger painting his pumpkin the next morning. It was so cute! Happy Halloween!
We visited the Riverbanks Zoo this weekend in Columbia, SC. It was a great day with some great friends! The morning started off kind of damp, but we made the best of it, we had an extra long lunch and we tried to visit all of the inside exhibits first, like the snakes (yuck), birds, fish, and the gorillas. Finally, we stepped back outside, and the sun was out. So, we were able to enjoy the rest of the zoo. We saw elephants, zebra, giraffes, monkeys , penguins, and more! It was a great time, and well worth the ride! We even took a ride on the merry go round, Gavin loved it, but mommy thought she was going to be sick! Great zoo, we suggest you check it out! 
It is officially Halloween season, and when you have a baby, that means, time to visit a pumpkin patch! It was a great time! We made it a family affair, both of his aunts and his Nani Dennison, and Grandma Ryan were able to join us. Gavin was fascinated with all of the pumpkins, and especially liked the big orange stickers that we had to wear for the hay ride. Gavin even wore his tractor sweatshirt in spirit of our time on the farm. When we were in the pumpkin patch Gavin picked out his own little pumpkin, so stay tuned for photos of his pumpkin after he decorates it! If you are planning on visiting a pumpkin patch, I highly recommend Carrigan Farms in Mooresville, they have a hay ride, small petting zoo, and a lot of pumpkins! This will definitely become a tradition in our family!
As you saw a few weeks ago on the blog, Gavin was on his knees, rocking, ready to go! Well, the past couple of weeks, Gavin has been very determined! He would be on his hands and knees, move one knee, then the other, then fall on his tummy! He was what you call "scooting" around, to get what he wanted. He would get very frustrated and tired out during this process, but all of his hard work paid off!!! Yesterday, October 16, 2009, Gavin crawled across the livingroom carpet to get to a toy that I was holding. It was awesome! Today, he is crawling around the living room trying to get to everything, watch out mommy and daddy, you're in trouble now!
On Saturday, October 3rd, Gavin and I completed our first 5K together! We completed the Susan B. Komen, Race for the Cure for breast cancer. It was a great turnout, over 14,000 people walked or ran that morning, and included in that bunch were myself, Gavin, Wendy, Julie, Renee and Kim! I plan on this being an annual event for Gavin and I! Here are some pictures! Not sure why they are blurry.....
