5 Months Old!

Gavin is now 5 months old. I can't believe it. No doctor's appointment this month, so no stats to share. If we had to guess, he is probably about 16 pounds, and around 26 inches maybe..... We know his head is getting bigger, because our favorite fisherman's hat you often see him wearing is too small.

What does 5 months bring.... well, we are introducing rice cereal this month, the first couple attempts have not been successful, but we will keep on trying.

His sleeping is hit or miss. At times, he goes down for naps with no problem, in fact, we just put him down, he turns on his side, hugs his "woof" and falls asleep. However, other times, he screams bloody murder whether we are holding him or he is laying in his crib. At night, we have pretty much nailed our routine (Play, Bath, Bottle, Rock, Bed), no more book right now, he is to eager to eat, he knows what is coming next, and is always VERY ANXIOUS for his night feeding, and then usually goes to bed with no problem. He is still waking up once or twice a night, to nurse, but falls right back to sleep. He goes to bed between 6:45-7:30 typically, and gets up between 6-7am. This whole sleeping thing is definitely the most difficult to understand so far, but we will get it eventually.

He is definitely teething, we really don't see anything yet, but all the signs are pointing to teething. Drool, drool, drool, his fists are constantly in his mouth, along with everything else in the house, low grade fever, diarrhea, and crankiness.... that could be effecting his sleep also.

Milestones:

Mimicking, hysterical, when Chris pretends to cough, Gavin does it now, it is so funny!
Reaching for toys and people (mommy and daddy, especially)
Holds toys, objects
Holds head up
Sits supported
Can pull from sitting to standing, bears weight on his legs
Supports himself on his arms, and holds his head up when on his tummy
Babbling, Laughing
Turns to the person who is talking to him



He already has a personality like his mom and dad, sticking his tongue out at the camera.
